On the 8th December 2008 I held an Agility Competition and was very pleased with all dogs and handlers that took part. The idea of these evenings is for the most improved dog and handler to receive recognition by way of holding a trophy for the year. There are 4 separate trophies - 1 for each class.
The dog and handler combinations, that in my opinion deserve the trophies for 2008 are as follows:

1. Marilyn and Isla (Border Collie) 5 - 6 pm Agility class
I would like to express my complete admiration for Marilyn with Isla. Isla has a very high drive and has been very difficult for Marilyn to learn to handle. With her patience and consistency, Isla is turning into an incredible Agility dog. Isla has solid contacts and is very responsive to body language. Well done Marilyn.

2. Anne and Jacey (Tibetan Terrier) 6 -7 pm Agility class
Anne came to Wight Wizards having previous Agility experience with Jacey. Her previous instructor recognized their potential and advised she join me for further training. Anne and Jacey are a very successful pair who consistently run clear rounds. Jacey has a very reliable jump. Anne has started competing on the mainland and is a joy to teach and observe. Well done Anne.

3.Evelyn and Reagle (Beagle) 7 - 8 pm Agility class
Reagle has a smashing personality. She is very bright and enjoys 'testing' Evelyn. With her kind and rewarding handling Evelyn manages to overcome Reagles 'stubborn moments'. I am very proud to be in the position of offering agility to such a wonderful partnership. Well done Evelyn.

4. Maggie with Meg and Blue (Border Collies) 8 - 9 pm Agility class
Well where do I start?!!! Maggie has 2 amazing dogs. They are both very fast and very different to handle. Her first dog has come on in leaps and bounds and I am sooooo pleased for her. Blue, Maggie's second dog has required different handling to Meg and Maggie has done exceptionally well to be able to learn a 'new way' of handling. Blue found it difficult to curb her excitement but has begun to settle into what is required of her. Maggie has already booked her first show for next season and I wish her all the best. I have decided it is too difficult to say one dog has progressed more than the other so am presenting the award to both dogs. Well done Maggie.
